Opa-Locka is a city located in Miami-Dade County, Florida located in the northwestern area of Miami-Dade County, Florida. As of the 2010 U.S. Census, the population was 15,219. The city was founded in 1926 by aviation pioneer Glen Curtiss. Opa-locka is renowned for having the largest collection of Moorish Revival architecture in the Western hemisphere and two of its buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places.
